Chris Ramirez is a New York-based photographer whose pictures can be seen throughout the pages of The New York Times, most notably the Travel section, for which Chris has done more than 15 cover stories in the past five years. Chris comes from the Washington Heights section of Manhattan in New York City, where his grandparents still live today. In 2001, Chris contributed his work to The New York Times “A Nation Challenged,” a special section published after the September 11 terrorist attacks on America. The New York Times won a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service with this section. Chris is a versatile photographer, as evidenced by his wide range of assignments and clients. His expertise includes the capture of stills, audio, video and panoramic imagery. Chris has been a faculty member at the Eddie Adams Photography Workshop since 1999. As a team producer, Chris finds and produces 10 stories annually to be shot by students for presentation at the workshop’s final slide show. Chris has traveled extensively, from the northernmost points of the United States to Italy and throughout the Caribbean, which has become one of Chris’ favorite corners of the globe. He makes his home in Summitville, N.Y., an unheard-of hamlet at the base of the Catskill Mountains some 60 miles northwest of New York City. He is married to Lisa, a reporter. They have a brilliant 5-year-old daughter, Bella, and one happy but very ugly dog named Ali. Links + Thingshttp://www.nytimes.comhttp://www.eddieadamsworkshop.com/ Notes | My Uploads My Favorites |
